Top-Loading Design
At conventional horizontal-loading autoclaves rectangular baskets are placed into a cylindrical chamber. Those situation looses 36% of the chamber volume. The Top Loading Tomy Autoclaves optimize use of chamber space. Putting articles to be sterilized into the chamber directly of putting articles to be sterilized into the basket (standard accessory) and putting basket into the chamber. Top-Loading design provides sample handing easier and sample capacity larger. With a Top-Loading design the Autoclave is installed on the floor eliminating the need for a stand a shelf or valuable benchtop space for installation. SS-245 and SS-325 do not require water and steam connection at anywhere SS-325 has casters and SS-245 has rubber feet for more portability.


Choice of Two Models
SS-245 incorporates a 22-liter chamber large enough to accommodate a 6-liter Erlenmeyer flask and 3-liter fermentors. SS-325 incorporates a 53-liter chamber which can accommodate a 25-liter carboy. Maximum sterilization temperature of 132degree Celsius meets more demanding sterilization.


Microprocessor Control
The sterilization temperature and time are controlled by a microprocessor for accurate control and reproducibility. Once sterilization temperature and time have set data remains in memory even after power has been shut. Temperature and time displays are very clear and large digit for easy read-out and time display error warning when it happens also.


Self-Contained Steam Waste Bottle
Steam vents into a waste bottle located in front of autoclave thus eliminating the need for a drainage hose connection and the problems associated with it. The water level of the bottle can be easily confirmed so that the water can be discarded before it overflows. Venting the chamber steam can be completed quickly or slowly over a period of 15 to 20 minutes.


Safety Features
Stainless steel construction
The chamber and lid are made of stainless steel for higher mechanical strength and resistance to corrosion. The heater and baskets are also made of stainless steel.
Lid gasket
The chamber lid incorporates a long-lasting silicone gasket specially designed to automatically tighten as pressure builds up inside the chamber thereby reducing the risk of leakage.
Ground leakage breaker
The power switch also acts as a circuit breaker. By breaking the power line upon detection of an excessive leakage to the ground the possibility of electrical shock is eliminated.
Pressure release valve
This valve opens to reduce chamber pressure in case of over-pressure.
Many more safety devices
Safety sensors detect abnormally high chamber temperature and pressure and react by automatically shutting down the sterilization operation.


Low Water Level Warning
A warning sign comes on when the water level in the chamber is low thus reducing the possibility of heater over heat.


Ease of Cleaning
A drain pipe at the bottom of the chamber facilitates cleaning. Solutions or water used for flushing the chamber can be readily drained off by removing plugs.
